The crafty team at Toft Alpaca are introducing a patchwork and quilting workshop on 1st September 2012 with guest tutor Edwina Mackinnon in their stylish new studio space at The Toft Alpaca Farm near Rugby.
Edwina Mackinnon is one of the UK's leading experts in patchwork and quilting and she will be teaching how to design and make an exclusive patchwork cushion. Whether you’ve tried your hand at patchwork and quilting and want to build up your confidence, or you’ve got a new sewing machine and want to see what it can do beyond taking up your trousers, this workshop will teach you all you need to know to create a beautiful cushion and the confidence to go on to tackle more intricate or larger pieces.
The workshop begins with a leisurely farm walk to meet Toft's herd of 200 alpacas in the beautiful Warwickshire countryside. Guests will also have the chance learn more about farming these wonderful animals whilst spending a day learning a new skill, talking a little 'alpaca' and looking behind the scenes of British yarn processing.
The price is £70 per person and includes cushion kit and threads. Guests will need to bring their own sewing machine in good working order or hire one from Toft for the day. Lunch and refreshments are also included.
