Visit The Memorial Hall, Walcote, Leicestershire in October and see this lovely biennial exhibition.
This year the group are making a mystery hanging and doing a block a month and quite a few of these finished quilts will be on display at this years exhibition. You can see some of these growing in the latest month's blogspots at www.lutterworthpiecemakers.blogspot.com. The the quality of work by the group is excellent, and this year's show is guaranteed to be an wonderful outing. Lutterworth Piecemakers are a group of 50 plus members and a very friendly, welcoming group which has grown from small beginnings.
The 2011 quilt exhibition was a tremendous success. The show had over 200 visitors over the two days, and all the comments were very positive. One man said that coming into the hall felt like 'a breath of fresh air' compared to the entrance to the Festival of Quilts. We're not quite sure what he meant, but it must be a compliment! The hall is spacious, and the lovely wooden floors set off the quilts to perfection. The variety of different quilt styles in 2011 was very pleasing, and we're sure visitors will be just as satisfied this year. There were applique, abstract, scrap piecing, curves, traditional blocks, strippies, blocks of the month and original designs, definitely something for everyone.
