Grab a piece of quilt art and help raise funds for the Quilters' Guild.
The Quilters' Guild of the British Isles is made up of seventeen areas, Region 16 consists of the whole of Scotland and outlying Islands, which makes it the largest geographical region in the Quilters' Guild. It is a very active and enthusiastic region, and hosts some great regional events throughout the year.
This year the region produced a brilliant collection of journal quilts. These were offered for sale to raise funds for the new Guild headquarters, Museum and Art Gallery at St Anthony's Hall in York. They were exhibited at the Loch Lomond Quilt Show earlier this year, where Gillian took the photographs shown here in the Region 16 Journal Quilts album. Look out for a feature about the exhibition in the October issue of Popular Patchwork.
Some of these lovely quilts are still for sale. Unsold items are indicated in the album and details are given about how to buy one. Quilts cost £30 each and anyone interested should contact Region 16 Regional Co-ordinator, Lesley Hurrell. Any journal quilts that are still unsold by the Scottish Regional Day at Portlethen on 13th September will be included in a silent auction. Quilts are normally sent by first class post without incurring any extra cost, but should you wish to have it sent recorded delivery then there is an additional charge of £2 to cover the extra postage. Cheques should be made out to "The Quilters' Guild of the British Isles - Region 16". Please email Lesley to find out where to send your cheque, and to check for the latest availability of the quilts. This is a fantastic opportunity to help raise funds for a worthwhile cause, and a chance to own a little piece of art at a bargain price.
