Popular Patchwork October 2010
October might be chilly, but we've got a great project to warm you up, Gillian's lovely Autumnal Throw, featured on this month's cover, will keep the cold away. Get ready to sort out your stash, as Sally White has designed a clever quilt as you go, reversible scrap quilt which might just make a dent in our scrap mountains. For those looking for a smaller project, we have two pretty accessories ideas, Chris Hammacott has fun with silk dyes and makes a Hat and Scarf set, while Sally Le Couteur has designed a pieced cushion cover with a floral motif. The October Square Dance mini quilt is made from Somerset folded patchwork and is a great project for an evening. Davina tackles all aspects of quilt finishing in the last installment of our Round Robin series, so we hope to see some more pictures of your completed quilts soon.
October brings you lots of lovely pictures of our favourite quilts from Festival of Quilts and The National Quilt Championships, and a great guide to creating your perfect workspace by Carolyn Sinclair. Gillian joins Bonnie Kerracher in a sponsored sewathon and Elisabeth Fuchs meets a wonderful group of French textile artists, "Les Lilies".
There are a massive £850 worth of prizes and giveaways in this issue, including £400 worth of the latest Fabric Freedom Christmas ranges, and loads of fantastic reader offers on new quilting books. Check the bits and pieces section and the book reviews for all our prize draws and special offers.
