The May issue of Popular Patchwork will be in the shops from Friday 30 March. Preview the contents here.
Spring into Summer with the new May issue of Popular Patchwork! We have a wonderful variety of projects for you this month. If you sometimes struggle to find good quilt patterns for the men in your life, we have two great quilts that might be just what you've been looking for. Option number one is our fantastic cover project, Fractured Log Cabin by Regan Purcell, while option two is a brilliant recycled denim quilt, Workadays Blues by Gillian Cooper. Both designs not exclusively masculine, they are man, woman and child friendly, and sure to be popular.
We also have a beautiful Star Floor Cushion from Katharine Guerrier and the instructions for Sally Ablett's lovely Art Deco quilt, which featured in last month's Fabric Freedom competition.
Mandy Munroe gets us all to play with Log Cabin with her quirky wall hanging, while Magie Relph and Helen Conway bring us the gorgeous Jo'burg Beauty. There's still more to come though, Sadie Yeomans has designed a lovely Chinese Chequers Table Cloth and Regan is back with some quick and easy Card and Pass Holders. There's lot for you to do this month, clear some space, and start sewing!
If you need a sit down after all that hard work, have a rest with a cup of tea and spend some time in our features section. Join Davina Thomas, who visited a miniature quilt exhibition in London or spend time with Gillian Cooper as she takes an indepth look at different aspects of Journal Quilts. You can alos find out what happened when Clare Saul met up with Kate Findlay and learnt about the interesting ways that Patchwork can be used to merge Science and Art. In other news this month, we spoke to Edinburgh's Telford College about their City & Guilds course in Creative Techniques – Textiles, and caught up with Islay Quilters in Quilting with a Cause.
There are over £300 worth of prizes and giveaways in this issue. Don't forget to check the 'What's New' section and book review pages for all our prize draws and special offers.
