Our cover project this month is Mandy Munroe's fantastic Modern Orange Peel. Inside there are four additional great quilt projects, Stuart Hillard's fresh Daisy Chain, Kate Mitchell's pretty English Diary, featuring Renee Nanneman's range for Makower, Chris Franses' spring Daffodils and Daisies and Rapture by Pat Bravo for Art Gallery Fabrics. If you feel like making something a little smaller than a quilt this month, there's also Debbie von Grabler-Crozier's lovely Soft Roses Dresden Plate Table Topper, Sarah Sparke's Soft Toy Play Mat and Bridget Kenningham's Cats and Mice in Love Doorstop. Those of you who enjoyed Regan Purcell's Row by Row Wall Hanging last month will love part 2, there are some great techniques in this final section.
Within our features pages, Gillian Cooper meets textile artist Hilary Beattie and Anne Williams reports from World Textile Day in Norfolk. Anne then heads west to check out the second West Country Quilt Show, where we catch up with Lady Sew and Sew and take a look at the winners of their Kaffe Fassett lap quilt competition. In this issue you can see some of our own prize winners work too, there's a gallery of some of the winning entries from our Bountiful Berisford's competition from November last year.
Our editor Bridget Kenningham has been very busy recently, and has two interesting features for you in the March issue. To accompany the fabulous Rapture project, she finds out more about Pat Bravo’s fabric designs and her quilt design processes, and also tells us about her forthcoming Summer Tour with Stuart Hillard and Arena Travel.
In this month's Scrap Attack, Stuart Hillard shows us how to make fire basket and fire chain blocks. We're now up to the eighteenth instalment of of the Hints and Tips series, where Brenda Dean and Janet Richardson bring more invaluable tips and tricks for your quilt-making, this time looking at making bias strips.
