Spring is nearly here, so we're bringing you some cheerful bright projects to get you in the mood for March. There are a variety of sizes and styles in our March issue, from Regan Purcell's citrus placemats to our lovely cover quilt by Ruth Lazarus. We've got a cot quilt from Gillian, a mini-quilt from Chris Hammacott, and scrumptious Fairy Cakes from Greta Fitchett in part two of our Cake of the Month series. There's also a brilliant Hen and Chicks set to make for Easter. Children and grandchildren will love hunting for eggs with the help of Ruth Lazarus's gorgeous hen, so why not make a start on it this month?

Our features section is perfect when you need something to read while you take a break with a cup of tea. This month, we take a look at some of the quilts already submitted to "A Gift Of Quilts". We also get involved in the process behind making one of these gift quilts with Spring Bank Quilters great redwork quilt, "Wonderful Worcestershire". Elsewhere, it's time to learn about the Bear's Paw block with Gillian, and Sally investigates the why's and how's of Quilt Labels.

There are £850 worth of prizes and giveaways in this issue, including £400 worth of lovely Red Rose fabric from Fabric Freedom. Check the "What's New" section, book review pages and the special Competition pages for all our prize draws and special offers. We've got together with Lady Sew and Sew to create a brilliant new design competition this month. Design a lap quilt using two fat quarters from one of four Timeless Treasures ranges, and you could win up to £100 worth of Timeless Treasures fabric. See page 44 for all the details. Your entry form for the regular competitions can be found on page 66.
