The new August 2014 issue is in the shops from Friday 25th July
You can preview the contents pages from the new issue of Popular Patchwork here, Popular Patchwork August 2014.
Our cover project this month is the summery Ships at Sea by Sarah Williamson. This fantastic half square triangle project is a jolly seascape in fresh breezy colours, inspired by coastal holidays. Inside, there's a choice of four fantastic quilts, Mandy Munroe's lovely Garden Quilt, Jane Andreoli's beautiful Paper Dolls, Laura Jane Taylor's stunning Obsession Quilt, and Double Flying Geese, a great scrap quilt by Alex Anderson. There's also two summer cushion patterns, Merry-Go-Round by Nel Whatmore and Angela Southey from Sizzix, and Katherine Guerrier's gorgeous yet simple Prairie Point Cushion. That's not all, Chris Franses' has designed a contemporary wallhanging for us, Swirling Circles, and Ruth Lazarus gets us all stuck into a bit of hand sewing with her Clamshell Tote.
Within our features pages, Vick Guthrie finds out more about Fine Cell Work, Gillian Cooper chats to Lucie Summers and tells us all about AQS 2014 in Paducah, Kentucky. Anne Williams visits The Quilt Association and we bring you a preview of next month's biggest event, Festival of Quilts. In this month's Scrap Attack, Stuart Hillard shows us how to make a Crayon Box quilt using scraps from our stashes, and Dawn Cameron-Dick tells us more about sewing machine needles in Dawn's Top Tips.
There are over £500 worth of prizes and giveaways in this issue. Don't forget to check the 'What's New' pages for our prize draws and special offers.
