A quick and easy holiday make to set your luggage apart from the rest.
Fuse a piece of visofix onto each piece of wadding.
Cut each piece in the shape of the pattern. You can download the pattern here.
Working on the non-adhesive side of the shaped piece draw four lines 3-inches long and 1/2 inch apart. Measure the first one 3/4 inch down from the top edge.
The lines should begin 1/2 inch in from the straight edge.
Working on the light coloured fabric, fuse the two pieces onto the wrong side as shown. Make sure you leave a gap of 1/2 inch between the pieces and 3/4 inch all the way round.
Working from the wadding side, stitch along the marked lines with contrasting thread. Double stitch the lines to make them clear.
Turn the piece over to the right side.
Cut 3 inches from the piece of cord, fold and stitch in the centre of one short edge. Fold the remaining 11 inches of cord and stitch in the centre of the opposite short edge as shown.
With right sides together, position the piece on top of the feature fabric. Pin in place. Stitch the two pieces together 1/4 inch away from the edge of the wadding, leaving a 5 inch gap along one long edge.
Double stitch across the cord at each end.
Trim away the surplus fabric around the edges and the corners.
Turn the work to the right side through the gap in the stitching.
Fold in the fabric in along the gap and press the work flat.
Stitch all around the edge close to the edge of the wadding. Again double stitch at the ends to secure the cord.
