A wonderful day out for textile enthusiasts
7 September - 1 December, 2012
Pauline Burbidge's magnificent retrospective exhibition opened recently at The Quilt Museum and Gallery in York. For a fulsome quilting experience you can also see the exquisite work of Amy Emms, the legendary North Country quilter.
Pauline's exhibition will feature design work and video footage of her works in progress will also be shown. A beautifully illustrated catalogue is available for purchase from the Museum shop as well as a wide selection of quilting kits, fabrics, books and souvenirs.
The Museum complex includes a sensory garden, Le Langhe Italian delicatessen and restaurant as well as the new School House Gallery.
Why not plan an autumn visit and enjoy this rare opportunity to see the work of two of Britain's most influential quilters!
Also, Quilt City is now live – a delightful trail of over 30 individual quilts celebrating York 800, to be found in shops, cafes, hotels and restaurants across the city and featuring two commissioned quilts by Alicia Merrett and Linda Barlow. Runs until 16th November
