Welcome to the November 2021 issue
These days I seem to find the darker mornings and longer evenings harder to deal with and I long for brighter days; and yet autumn is a wonderful season full of colour and textures to inspire. I think the shades of autumnal colours are the ones most suited to making cosy quilts to snuggle under.
Another packed issue for you this month and, I hope, a good variety of projects for you to make. The Around the World Quilt from Makower will make a great wall hanging, and dare I say it, Christmas gift! Similarly, Daisy’s Guitar Quilt is a lovely quick pieced quilt for the guitarist in your life. Katharine Guerrier encourages us to get back into letter writing with her stylish Stationery Folder while the Hearts and Flowers Quilt is a great way to get ahead for your spring quilting. If it’s quick piecing you are after, the Cobweb Hexie Table Topper would make an ideal Halloween project and the Sweet Dreams Quilt is also an easy make. Stuart’s block in Stashbusting this month is an awesome design; a Firecracker!
We continue our look at various projects that have come together during the pandemic with All in the Same Storm: Pandemic Patchwork Stories. We Meet Nadia Arbach who has a decluttering podcast while Sheilah Daughtree tells us more about the Quilting with Liberty Fabrics gallery at the recent Festival of Quilts.
Until next month
