Macmillan Cancer Support has launched a brand new fundraising event that’s perfect for creative types who like to make a difference while they make and do.

The charity is asking everyone to host their own Really Good Night In on Friday 26 April, by getting together friends and family, having fun and raising money for people affected by cancer.

It’s easy to take part: simply sign up and take inspiration from Macmillan’s fantastic fundraising kit to decide on a theme or come up with your own.

Sewing sensation and author of Sew Over It, Lisa Comfort, will be throwing her own Really Good Night In sewing master class at her shop in London on Friday 12 April. She said: “Really Good Night In is the perfect way for crafty people like me to have a great time creating something beautiful whilst raising money for a really important cause. Arts and crafts are never more fun than in a group, so go on, teach your friends a skill – or ask them to – and be happy in the knowledge that everyone’s donations will be helping Macmillan to make sure that no one goes through cancer alone.”

Lisa has produced a pattern for her fabric covered button earrings, why not get together a make a few pairs at a Really Good Night In event of your own? Click the photo to get a copy of the instructions...

Macmillan is asking hosts to try and raise at least £100 from their Really Good Night In – which could easily be covered by asking guests for a donation for the fantastic evening they’re about to have.

More than one in three people now get cancer which, for most, will be the toughest fight they ever face. It’s a fight no one should go through alone and the Macmillan team wants to ensure no one does.
