A new childrenswear Liberty of London collection, inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson
Alice Caroline launches the brand new Liberty of London fabric collection ‘Garden of Dreams’ which is based on the beautiful poems of Robert Louis Stevenson in ‘A Child’s Garden of Verses’.
Written in 1885, ‘A Child's Garden of Verses’ gives a wonderful insight into the minds and lives of children, and this simply beautiful collection captures all of your childhood memories using 16 original Liberty designs created specially for children’s wear. The collection is based around the magical world of a child and their thoughts and dreams - a magical world beneath the flowers and leaves, where tiny creatures played hide and seek and ate miniature picnics atop toadstools with bluebirds that brought strawberries to the feast.
Lose yourself in the ‘Liberty Story Book’ – the design stories taken from Stevenson’s poetry are ‘Fairyland, My Garden Grows, Little Treasures and Land of Dreams’ which form the inspiration behind the beautiful fabric designs. Some of the fabric names are delightful too; Strawberry Feast, Summer Blooms, Meadow Sweet, Toy Garden, Dancing Kites, Land of Dreams and Little Treasures.
Alice Caroline Garrett, the owner of Alice Caroline, a Liberty fabric specialist says; “I’m so excited about this wonderful collection – it’s one of the best I’ve seen and has such a great story attached. I remember reading the series of beautiful children’s poetry when I was a child and it’s the perfect inspiration for a children’s wear collection. The fabrics really take you back in time and have such a cute retro feel to them. There is nothing quite like the imagination of a child - the magical world of flowers, leaves and tiny creatures to create a beautiful Liberty collection is simply perfect. I can’t wait to make children’s clothes and quilts from the gorgeous fabrics. I’ve also got some great plans for some lovely fat quarter selection packs.”
The new collection will be available to buy from the Alice Caroline website from April 1st www.alicecaroline.co.uk
