Over the years, this internationally renowned event has become well known in the field of traditional and modern patchwork and art quilts

The four villages of Val d’Argent open their most beautiful places to visitors, and during the four festival days turn into real art galleries exhibiting between 1200 and 1500 textile works. These works reflect yesterday’s and today’s patchwork landscape to 22 000 international patchwork and quilting enthusiasts.

With classes, conferences, activities and a considerable commercial area specialized in everything dealing with this art, it is not surprising to see this successful event taking place year after year.

The history of the European Patchwork Meeting starts in 1993, when the French Association of the Anabaptism and Mennonite History organized the celebration of its 300 anniversary, in Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines, crib of the Amish movement. This became a true international discovery, 18 TV channels from the whole world covered the event, 5000 visitors were moved and impressed by the Amish Quilts owned by the Swiss collector Jacques Légeret.
