I like the idea behind this book; each of the authors has taken one design and made it up in their own individual way, thus giving each design two differing styles and colourways. There are 16 projects with a good variety to choose from including bags, quilts and table runners. The book has good, clear instructions and diagrams with a detailed chapter on quilting techniques. It’s a colourful, lively book with projects to suit all skill levels for piecing and appliqué. My favourite was Japanese Train Tiles made up in two colourways, illustrating very effectively how very different a quilt can look when made up in alternate colours. The subtle tones of blues, pinks and soft greens are very appealing, but alternative table mats in the same design in bright orange, yellow and pinks are vastly different, but still stunning. This is a lovely book with plenty of designs to inspire and would make an excellent gift for your quilting friends or yourself...perhaps by dropping the odd hint or two nearer Christmas!
