More about me:
I began patchwork and quilting for my Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award - 18 months later the rest was history! 30 years on and I'm still patching, quilting, doing appliqué and many other crafts.
I'm a fan of Lynne Edwards (her books feature most on my bookshelves?) - but my sampler quilt - begun in 2007 with 20 blocks - is this year being turned into a Sampler Quilt Journal or Quilt Journal Sampler? (I think number one is more correct?) Sampler Patchwork and Quilting Journal (SPQJ) September 2011.
I've done 8 pages of the SQJ - but they needed the verso side so they became 16 pages. Number 7 was to have been Tulip block - stained glass patchwork but I want to use a design from my house windows - it was built in 1912 and so is 100 sometime next year!!!!! It is the family home that we moved into in 1978/9 as I started senior school. My Mum died earlier this year so my daughter and I are in the process of moving back in - not as straight-forward as it sounds! So, the stained-glass design transfer is being left for another time - perhaps 2012 in the houses' birthday year?
I'm working on Jacob's Ladder blocks - Blue and Purple for the right-hand page and Lilac / Pink for the verso page. Still working on the Stained Glass design - it's a yellow heart shape with leaves (in green!) and a purple top and orange base.
September 2011 md.
Well, tonight I've worked out why my profile isn't visible - I've not ticked the enable public profile box! Sorry, Katy - I'm only human sometimes!
The S P&Q J is making progress slowly - and I'll update the photos when I take and then transfer them soon so you can see the progress - but for Christmas 2011 I bought myself some material for a Sampler Quilt - which now has 19 blocks ready hence the slow progress for the Journal - I'm aiming for 24 or may-be 25? Pictures will be updated sooner 'cos they're already on the laptop and just need transferring to the PP website!
ATC's have been my new challenge from October 2012 - but I managed to buy soft stuff for the middle - not stiff - so my ATC's are uniquely unique in not being stiff?
Updated and enabled January 2013 med.
I looked again for my Public profile - only to see I again don't have one? Must have been lost in an update?
I have achieved so much patchwork in 2013 so far - 10 months in - and today have sat in Turner's on the A6 in Stockport joining hexagons for a wall hanging / banner on display there (title only until the art and crafts exhibition is taken down in early November), the title is "Thursday at One" who meet most Thursdays at ? 13:00! It will be put up in Baptist Church from January 2014 - you could, however see it if you pop in about 2pm on a Thursday?
Updated again October 2013 med.
