Hi all...with donations and repayments we have enough to another loan! I have chosen Safia Bibi, from Lahore! She sews and is also teaching some local girls to sew as well! She wants to buy a new sewing machine! Many thanks!Best Rosemary

![]() 676 forum posts 118 photos | Rosemary et al, From my Rotary days I remembered the following website: The idea is that trade-aid send out a box of tools of the trade to a nominated person around the world. The 'postage'/delivery costs are included. Admittedly the cost is around £400 (or used to be) but I was wondering if we could club together and perhaps buy a box through a local Rotary club to send a Christmas present for someone out there. Rosemary I don't want to detract from LWC but this would also make a difference to someone out there. If anyone is interested I would be pleased to look into this further. Jayne x |

![]() 8902 forum posts 5365 photos 898 articles | That's interesting Jayne. My mum is a big rotarian, I will ask her if she knows about this too. Thank you. I like the idea of sending a seamstress trade box to someone, but it would take a while to raise the funds between us |

![]() 8902 forum posts 5365 photos 898 articles | Sorry Rosemary, I think I forgot my donation. I will try again when I've been paid, I am rather overdrawn this month so I daren't make that worse this week Jayne has kindly investigated Trade Aid for us. She's found out that a tailor/seamtress box costs £425 including delivery. I know that sounds a lot but over a year, I think we could do that. And look at the box... The organisation has just sent 12 tailor/seamstress boxes to the Wulugu project in Tamale, Northern Ghana, www.wulugu.co.uk where they take young deprived girls off the streets and give them training, enabling them to get work and better themselves. Any donation we would like to make would go towards this project. |
