Hi Teresa

Your block has arrived to day and yes its a perfect match. Fully understand the problem of Christmas birthday especially the numerous miscellaneous bags and being convinced you have completed a task only to discover it sitting there looking at you some weeks latter. Fret no more I'm delighted with my extended birthday.

Better late than never! This is my finally finished quilt! I had actually made my own block to add to the birthday ones and layered it up very quickly after my birthday back in April 2013 and knew it would be slow as I wanted to hand quilt it all. So this was one which travelled to my group with me occasionally and each time I got it out, I realised it wasn't as advanced as I thought...

Anyway, I'd asked for green and red blocks to make a quilt for my son to use when he stays, but not Christmassy fabrics so that it could be all year round. Last autumn, I thought that this time scale was becoming ridiculous so I made a major effort and got all the blocks hand quilted (just 1/4" outlining, nothing fancy). The week before Christmas, I was brave and took the decision to ignore the border and just bind it so that it could be used! Then after Christmas, I crosshatched the borders and unpicked the binding to slip stitch it in place on the back for a neater finish. And it was finally finished on 1 January 2019.
