Hi Angela,

That would be wonderful.

The bonnets don't take long and I'm sure that Chritina would be gratefu.

I have been reading up on this and found it very moving and have down loded the bonnet pattern, I need to get in touch with Christina regarding naming the bonnet and possibly the ship the woman sailed on, lot of history here.

Same here, I love the idea of naming the bonnet for a specific women.

Hi Angela & H,

I tnink you are both wonerful for partcipating.

If you have any problems finding a convict name or anything else, please feel free to contact me.

The pattern was easy to follow once I'd worked out to print two copies. Also I made a bonnet and full lining so that I could turn it through and not have any raw edges inside.

Hi Brenda

I downloaded the bonnet pattern and consent form and have read as much info on this as I can find but I'm still unsure as to how we access the names of the ladies for the bonnets.
I have emailed Christina Henri to ask for this information but I'm not sure whether the email has been received as I cc'd it to my email address but have not received it myself.

It's wonderful to hear of you interest in making a bonnet!

You can find a list of ships and names at

Scroll down the page to "records in the data base" and click on the alphabetical letter you wish to follow. It will give you a list of names and the ship that the woman came out on. The number by the side of the ship tells you if it was a first or second voyage etc.

I made a bonnet and a lining so that I could turn the work through and the raw edges were hidded but that's up to you. There's no right or wrong way.

Please let us have a picture of your bonnet when it's finished.

Brenda
