Hi,

I've been a member of the forum for a few weeks now but am still a bit puzzled as to how it all works.

I am wondering if it is OK to post pictures and talk about projects that are made from purchased patterns rather than patterns in the magazine?

I made a bag last weekend and would share a picture but need to know if it is OK first.

Of course you can show us your bag! You can post pictures of anything you made yourself! We would love to see a picture of your new bag, please show us!

Thanks Katy

Here's the bag I made last weekend.

This is a side view of the bag

this is the front.  I made a button loop but haven't found a nice button or toggle yet

This is the back.  I used fabrics from Moda Madeira by Blackbird Designs and am pleased with the way it turned out.

Katy, thanks so much for the FQ of fabric that you sent me for my entry into the recent bag competition.

It is very pretty and I look forward to using it in one of my projects.

Your bag is gorgeous! It's really simple, but looks stunning!

Thanks Katy.  I love making bags and that was an easy pattern.

I would be proud to carry that bag anywhere Margaret, and it looks really substantial too. Mine always look floppy and don't hold their shape, so will have to investigate further.

Hi Sue,

Thanks for your kind words on the bag.  I've actually already mailed it to Canada as it was a birthday gift.

I sent it buttonless as it's not easy to find anything where I live in Spain.  My friend is also a quilter and has better access to haberdashery than me.  I'm sure she'll find something.

Why are you trying to downsize your button collection?  I wish, oh  I wish, that I had my mums old button box that I used  to play with as a child.  I just love buttons

STILL cannot understand how to send or post notes or reply to one. Someone named Maureen answered my note yet I have no way of knowing her nickname which I believe I have been asked.
