Welsh Heritage Quilters Exhibition
4 - 18 April 2020
10am - 4pm (including Sundays)
Minerva Arts Centre, Llanidloes, Powys SY18 6BY
Welsh Heritage Quilters hold an exhibition every two years.
This year our exhibition is called 20:20 Visions. We have been working on several themes
inspired by this idea. The themes range from traditional wholecloth designs to the Jazz Age and Sashiko. There will be a varied range of exhibits, both large and small and some will be in response to a suggested theme. One of these is 'Long and Lean', where members were asked to make a wall hanging of a specific size and using a shape and colour pulled at random from a 'lucky dip' – The results are amazing!
Once again Doughty's of Hereford will be bringing a range of their pre-cut fabrics to sell. There will also be stalls from other traders.
There will be demonstrations by members of the group throughout the exhibition including,
on Saturday 11th April, a Sunbonnet Sue drop-in session for you to try your hand at this popular design.
Welsh Heritage Quilters meets every Wednesday afternoon from 2-4pm in The Minerva Arts Centre, Llanidloes. Our members range from complete beginners to those with many years experience in patchwork and quilting. Our afternoons often include demonstrations from members as well as visiting speakers but sometimes we just meet to sew, chat and share a cup of tea! We are always happy to help each other, swapping ideas and sharing techniques. If you would like to join us you can be sure of a warm welcome.
