The work you have done is beautiful Brenda. I love the kaleidoscope effects.

Back in May I was asked to make a table runner as a wedding present. I remember asking if there were any gold fabrics available. in the end I used an oakshot fabric and R&A embroidery thread to outline a lion in a coat of arms.

this is the plan, I used the wedding ring block as well as the couples coat of arms.

here is the plan laid on the carpet. it is 100% size. about 30" long.

and here is the finished item on the settee. [sorry about my toes in the previous picture, just noticed them haha.

That's lovely Eileen,

I miss the history in the UK. History here for non-indigenous Australians only began in 1788. My aunt lived in a house in the north of England that was built long before that but we didn't think it anything special!

Curious to know the origin of the coat of arms.

Rosemary, I hope the quilting is going well. It's a massive job.

That's lovely Eileen. Really unique and a wonderful gift. If my google translator is correct, it is a good motto too. I do admire your meticulous planning as that part of my brain seems to be sadly lacking.

This UFO has sat in a chest of drawers since 2007! It is a Susan Briscoe design for PP. I made the blocks as each of the 3 installments of the magazine was published and I started the QAYG, realised how much work was required and lost interest back in 2007.

I thought it would be a good idea to use charm squares on the back, all 256 different fabrics! I had been given a load, probably by Janet McElroy, and added some of my own. I used them as they came and chose not to trim them all to the same size. Hand sewing down the joining strips took forever!

Took a month to complete this UFO.

I have finished my daughter's black/grey and brown quilt. I have posted images on the thread 'oh to be able to use colour'. But just in case you haven't seen that thread here are the top and back of the quilt. I hope she likes it.

it is 7 1/2 ft by 6 1/2 ft and daughter asked for it so they could dispense with the duvet in the summer. We will now get a cold spell considering the quilt is finished.

Well done, Eileen. By my standards, it is huge! Cold spell coming, as you predicted!
