Eileen your quilt is fab, did you have a pattern? Margaret yours too is amazing, I think it would have taken me much longer, it’s a good feeling to get a big project finished isn’t it. Not that I’ve made very many large quilts. I am planning one soon though.

Thanks you Steph. I designed the pattern myself and worked it all out before I started cutting any fabric. Same with the back. With large quilts I put them together in sections as I only have a standard throat sewing machine.

I love planning and use 5mm square paper so it is drawn to scale. I then take each block and draw it out and decide which fabrics Iwant to use. my daughter will be given the pattern/design sheets as I know she will frame them. She appreciates the design aspect as she graduated with a fashion degree, specialising in men's tailoring.

best wishes

Eileen

Evening Group's Mystery Quilt. Final instructions revealed it should be Buckeye Beauty! Not enough contrast between my lights and mediums, but I prefer it this way. No one's actually turned out as a true Buckeye Beauty. Backing fabric was in my stash from yonks ago.

Wow that is beautiful Margaret. Love the backing fabric too, the colours are glorious.

I have finished my little bargello 'picture' and I am really pleased with it.

completed bargello green

I also made a Linus quilt at home as I was unable to attend the quilting groups charity sewing morning.

My next project is a playmat for my daughter's friend who has just had a little girl.

Well done, Eileen.

UFO zapped. I have used 9 blocks from Rosemary's Block Challenge (Non Swap) and zapped this charity I Spy quilt. Backing was an ebay win. I think it is probably curtaining but it came up soft when washed.

That is beautiful Margaret. love the backing fabric, so much to see and play with.

my eldest [Elizabeth] asked me to make a baby quilt as a christening present. I decided to make it double sided with the back being an I spy quilt. I used some of my birthday blocks too.

I gave Elizabeth it yesterday and she loves it but I forgot to take a final photo. it is 42"x36"

this is the back and this most of the front [middle section]i spy quiltbaby aurora.I will have to ask my daughter to take a photo of it.

Cup cake mug rugsHere are my my cup cake mug rugs made for cup cake day at work, only made from scraps with just a little extra. It’s so difficult to know how much to charge for them? I’m thinking of £3
