walking foot

I have found this brilliant for the straight stich when quilting. But can you use decorative stitches with the walking foot. I don't want to try in case it damages the machine. Its a Janome memory craft 950 and I've had it a few years now.

HI Eileen....I can on my machine......the walking foot has a wide space where the needle is.....like the foot I use for zig-zag etc. best Rosemary

That's what I was hoping. yes mine has a full needle range too.

I had a reply from Janome this morning and they don't recommend doing anything but straight stitch.frown

Must say I was impressed with their rapid response though.
