October Challenge

Hi All,

As promised (and just a little late) here’s the October challenge!

With Autumn well and truly here, this month take inspiration from nature and create a piece of work that reflects the season. Using whichever techniques you prefer – applique, embroidery, patchwork and quilting, I would like you to design a small picture. Size is of course up to you, but I would suggest that working within a 12in square would keep it manageable. However, if you wanted to use it as the start of a cushion cover or something else, then obviously work to a size that suits you. (It doesn't need to be square- it may be any shape you want. These are simply guidelines and not rules).

Your work could be figurative or abstract. It could depict nature through use of imagery or purely through colour and texture- as always, the choice is yours.

The winner will be chosen beginning of November.

Good luck and enjoy!

Emma

You're looking like a clear winner right now. I'm going to announce a winner on Monday 6th November, so that gives everyone another week, if you want to join in?

... and I have a great prize lined up!

This is my Autumn Fox, I have been struggling with the quilt thread which kept breaking despite everything I tried, never the less it is done. It is not bound as I haven't decided whether to keep it as is, or whether to make 3 other seasonal blocks to make up a 4 season panel.

Rosemary, what lovely colours, Carol I think a four panel seasons quilt would be good.

Here's my challenge from a couple of years ago. Two layers with a zip down to view the underneath.
