![]() Moderator 5883 forum posts 1720 photos 13 articles | Hi All....... I said I was planning a new HST swap starting in November...... here are the details! While I was staying with Margaret(Winnie) this summer she reminded me of something I had seen before but not tried! A method of making a set of 8 HST's in any size you want! Here are the instructions 1. Decide what size you want your finished HSTs to be. ( eg 6 ins) 2. Double that measurement....... 12 ins (in this case) and add 1 3/4 ins to that total). 13 3/4 ins (in this case) 3. Cut 2 squares this size and iron them to keep them together. 4. On the paler fabric...... draw the diagonals and then mark a 1/4 ins seam on either side of those lines. 5. Sew the diagonals on the outside of the drawn lines.(NOT MORE THAN THAT just not on the line) 6. Cut along the diagonals and along the centres vertically and horizontally Sorry about the top right one.... I put it the wrong way round when I put it back to take the photo! There you are.... 8 identical HSTs of the same size! Best Rosemary Edited By rosemary Rosenfeld on 23/10/2016 14:26:03 |

![]() Moderator 5883 forum posts 1720 photos 13 articles | Well there you have it! I am open to suggestions as to size........ 4/5/6 ins would seem to be reasonable suggestions! So who would like to join in next month? I am suggesting "Fireworks" as the colour for November...... to be sent to me by the end of November ......... and don't forget a SAE as well!! I will give a definite size by the end of October.... so don't go cutting your fabric just yet! Best Rosemary Edited By rosemary Rosenfeld on 23/10/2016 14:48:27 |

![]() 676 forum posts 118 photos | Me too, especially if it's an in or out each month. Can I suggest a size that mixes well with the last lot of HST, so we can mix and match them? Although I do like the thought of bigger ones, so maybe twice the size? Jayne x |

![]() Moderator 5883 forum posts 1720 photos 13 articles | I agree that 4 or 6 are more flexible sizes so...... Maybe if you could all give answers to the following questions..... Will you join in if we go for 4 ins finished HSTs? Will you join in if we go for 6 ins finished HSTs? As I said before.... I think we should swap at least 2 sets although we could be flexible and if you wanted to send 3 that would be fine! Let me know when you know! best Rosemary |
