This is my first dresdon plate design quilt for my Grandaughter at university

I have cut out the squares 12". Dresden plate to be in the centre.

I dont want too many blades ( is that correct).

How many blades are acceptable and how big.

This is brilliant having my friends on this Forum to ask, being a novice.

Thank you

Hi Patricia

There are lots of patterns for dresden plate, and they all have a different number of blades really.

Tickled Pink This one is for 12in finished size blocks on a 12.5 in square, and has twenty blades in each, plate. It was in PP feb last year.

There are also lots of rulers you can buy to help too

If you want something with less blades and to fit in a 11.5 finished block, I can draw you one if you like?

I love Dresden Plates. I have a box of them (15 I think). Made them from Liberty scraps Jan and I bought many, many years ago. Must find them and put them together (when I have finished a few more important things).

This week I made a Dresden plate pin cushion from scraps left over from a quilt I have made. It's five inches square and is a present for a friend for her new craft room. Welcome Patricia. Irene rose

Hi Patricia, this is a bad photo of one i made on Sunday with 12 blades. This is very easy to put together and would fit on your 12in blocks
