On Thursday I had a go at making a stack and whack quilt. My favourite quilt shop had a class and we had a day making this.

Now, as a quilter, I'm not a big fan of prep and just like to get on with the sewing but this quilt is all about the prep which took most of the day. The emphasis being on the cutting of the repeats and then the pinning of the layers together.

after all the prep we started cutting and I was quite pleased with the results and have added some pics of the fabric I started with and the blocks I have made so far.

Lovely blocks Claire. I friend of mine went on a course last week too. I wonder if it was the same one? Before she went, she spent £84 on material (yikes!) and couldn't use any of it! She hadn't realised that you needed 8 pattern repeats.
