Sew Happy Quilt-Along Guidelines

Sew Happy Quilt-Along Guidelines

In January we started our Quilt-Along (QAL) with Mandy Monroe. For those of you who have not taken part in a QAL before, here are some general guidelines to help you start up a QAL to make the quilt.

Hi Lexy, I can't remember off the top of my head, but a large letter stamp should do it. The way I try to do it is take the squishy to the PO unsealed, get them to tell me how much it costs, then pay for the squishy postage and buy stamps for the same value. Then stick your stamps on the SAE, stick that back in the squishy, seal and let the PO stick their posting label on. Don't let them sell you a two posting labels though, you need stamps for the SAE, as you don't know when it will be sent back.

As you are sending and receiving the same amount of fabric, that usually works.

Bought my swap fabric ( and hopefully a pale one) this morning! Really looking forward to seeing what the rest of you buy!

Hi All....me again! Are we going to have any rules for our swap? Should we wash the fabric before posting ? And when we send you our fabric Katy....do we send it all or keep the 2 smaller pieces?

Just a thought - with so few of us in the swap should we discuss what colour fabric we are swapping so that we don't all send, for example, blue? I have two fabrics on order and whilst I would prefer to send the green one, I also have a pink one.

I couldn't find peachy or raspberry, so mine is yellowy/orange.

Rosemary if it is just us, then I would suggest we keep the two smaller pieces ourselves. I meant to say that before, but maybe I deleted it!

Hi Katy

Could you please PM me your address? I plan to cut the fabric this evening and then I'll try and get to the post office tomorrow or Wednesday. Is it definitely 18x16" strips?

Thanks

~Lexy

Hi Lexy, yup, there's five of us, so please cut your mid-tone fabric up as follows, and send me the four 18 x 16in pieces, and keep the two 9 x 18in pieces for yourself

"Group of five – each person will get five different fabric strips approx. 18 x 16in (84 ÷ 5 = 16 1⁄2in), with one person getting two smaller strips 9 x 18in"

I'll pm you my address now.
