Good afternoon everyone.... according to "The Quilt Show" is International Quilting day/weekend ...this coming weekend!

"They" have lots of free shows to watch over the weekend......... and......

I think we should all try to "do" some quilting at some point! Rx

Fortunately I used EQ5 to help design the was able to print a copy and draw/write all over it!

this one.jpg

That has made life easier. It uses plain fabrics on a pale grey background!! Rx

Fortunately there was very little"frog stich" needed! Just a lot of concentration! I think I have it sorted now..just loads of drunkards path blocks to make now! I have a picture somewhere! Rx

Rhetorical! Many thanks! Rx

I need to let of a bit of steam / clear my head! You may remember me talking about a drunkards path quilt for DS and his far so good! But I didn't buy enough background fabric...I managed to buy more...vut it's a different dye lot....and it sticks out like a sore me!

So because of the pattern..there are distinct areas where the background doesn't actually touch another area! So I have spent the day marking and counting how many of one lot...and of course of the other lot as well! Clear enough so far? If it is....great...perhaps you can help ! If not...welcome to my world!

Thanks for listening..I feel better already! Rosemary x

Good morning everyone......sorry I have not been here much recently.....I am the process of just completing a new project for the magazine for later in the I have been busy!

Once that is in the post I am going to try out some of the letters.....I have lots of ideas.....just lacking in time....and of course I have the quilt for FoQ 2019 to finish as well!! Rx

That sounds great Eileen....I look forward to seeing some finished blocks! "People" (non quilters!) just don't realise the number of hours of work that goes into making a quilt do they? And then they are surprised when I give them a quote for a quilt! I usually talk about at least 100 hours....! Rx

Good morning Eileen.....I was waiting to see what interest there was before going any further with the idea....I'll let you know!!

As far as the birthday club goes.........I had very very little response...just 2 it didn't seem worth it!

Sorry! Rx

Good morning anyone up for a challenge?

Margaret/Winnie sent me a link the other day ......because she knew I would probably be really taken with it.

And she was quite right!

Here is the link.........

This led me to find all the files and download them!! And then she sent me the numbers as well!!

So.......I wondered whether anyone else would like to "do" something with these patterns?

It could be anything you fancy.....quilt/bag/cushion/anything else!! as long as it has at least one letter or number!!

Best Rosemary

Oh dear... I can't find a supplier over here at the moment...but I did find Matilda's Own bag wadding at thesewingstudio....costing £11 a metre! I don't know about postage! R x

18/02/2019 17:32:57

I have bought Matilda's Own....printable fabric...about 4 by 6 ins...which I use for quilt labels! I only have a couple left so I will have to see if I can remember where I got it! Rx

16/02/2019 21:30:28

Good evening Brenda..... I know what you mean about the cost of that wadding! But it is lovely to work with! I have used a bonded curtain lining...much cheaper...really firm...and works well in bags! I used to buy it from the market stall.. but they have closed and I have some in stock..what I am going to do when I have used it all!! Rx

Thank you Margaret.....Sheila had a pattern.....I think it was complete kit from Hobbycraft..... and the yarn was really nice to use....a cotton/acrylic mix! Rx

Good afternoon everyone....I know this is not quilting but It is worth showing you all here........

I have just finished this crochet blanket , started by Sheila......well in fact mostly made by Sheila........she had made 16 1/2 of the 20 blocks needed....and then it just had to be joined together and edged! The pictures show just 2 of the 4 quarters....all the same pattern.....just different colourways! Rx
