Thread: Sewing machine for quilting |

Hi Nicole, Most sewing machines are suitable for quilting. You will need a walking foot to feed the 3 layers through. I have a Bernina 440 which I have had for years and it suits me very well as I make quilts, and machine quilt with it. I can also free motion quilt small items too. I Make clothes, bags, toys etc.,. I agree with Rosemary that you should try before you buy and you can do this at the Festival of Quilts (1-4 August). Most sewing machine brands will be there and you can try them all. It also depends what features you would like it to have on your machine. Irene |

Hi Sylvia, I'm so glad to hear that you are safe. I did think about you at the time of the storm. I feel very sad that so many died and the devastation caused by the flooding. |

I remember doing this a few year ago (was it 5 years ago?)when I was in Switzerland staying with my daughter. My grandson, Jonny joined in too and made a teacosy for his mum. I think those who joined in chose an hour in the day, or night, to do their sewing. |

Hi Margaret, Thank you so much for my fabulous snowflake card. I love it. It looked good in its plastic cover. I think I shall have to start doing that as I've found that the stamps are not sticking so well on the fabric. |
