Finally, uploaded the pic - it didn't like the original title I think, because when I changed it, all was well! Mental note, no commas in picture titles!
Thread: 2009 Friendship Block Swap

I've just uploaded pics of my progress and of my own block

Your block is done and will be in the post on Monday, I do hope you like it

I have dug my blocks out again and an quilting the third section (quilting as I go, half the quilt is together now, this will make 3/4 and then I need to make my block to finish off!)

I am thinking it might go on the wall behind our bed - just need to get DH to put some hooks up.....

Thread: How much fabric do I need?
05/06/2010 20:28:00
Although as you gain experience you will understand that the answer to that question is either 'as much as I can afford' or 'damn, not quite enough, better buy some more'!
Thread: to quilt course or not to quilt course....that IS the question!!
05/06/2010 20:22:35
I think it depends on whether you need two things:

a) The discipline of having to get something done for a certain date (I know I do at times!)

b) The certificate - DIY is good as long as you can justify to yourself that you have learned it (if that makes sense?)

I think you could learn just as much from books if you were systematic and decided to keep a journal of what you were learning, make samples, modify them, try new things etc....it would be a lot cheaper too!

However, if you want a recognised qualification, then C&G is the way to go.

Hey, just realised we are in June - we must have another recipient!

If there are only 2 people left, could we have both their requirements so we can get the blocks out and the swap completed? (Yes, I know I am already behind, but hey, as well behind for 3 as for 1!!!)
02/06/2010 22:35:37
Jytte, I am terribly behind, but I know what I am doing for you block and it will be made tomorrow - and maybe even posted!!!
Thread: transferring design on to black fabric

A chalk marker would work, or maybe pencil....
