|Thread: hug hearts|
Hi everyone. Lovely surprise this morning, a pack of hug hearts. Thank you so much. I have not been on here for quite a while. My father went in to hospital last October and only came out just before Christmas. During that time he had a urine infection, a heart attack and was diagnosed with Parkinsons. Being 91 years of age this has taken a great deal out of him. He is home now but with carers going in 4 times a day. He lives 2 - 3 hours away so has been very tiring for me backwards and forwards, life has been put on hold with regard to quilting etc. Thank you once again for the hearts they put a smile on my face. Sorry this post is so long. Carol D.

|Thread: Heirloom quilt|
The design of the quilt is done in blocks. The dupion is backed with fusible interfacing and bondaweb before using ornate stitches on sewing machine, which are then backed with calico and wadding and quilt as you go method is used. Would the fusible interfacing/bondaweb help stop the fraying?
Yes it is expensive. She does do a kit for it, still quite a bit, but I suppose a double quilt in cotton fabrics is not cheap. I just love the design, but don't know how difficult the silk dupion is to work on.
Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has attempted the Pauline Ineson heirloom quilt.
I have bought the book and very tempted to give it a go. It is done in silk dupion on a luxurious calico, looks amazing.
