Babs -  you can resize your images with iphoto - see the link below. I can't try it for you, so I can't tell you where you will see the size of the file, so you might have to use trial and error for the first one or two.

Hi Babs

I haven't got a mac so I'm not sure what software you've got. Can you resize photo's using iPhoto or is it  just for viewing? If you can resize then use to reduce the size of your image until it is less than 250KB in filesize. On a Windows PC you can use Paint to do this, I imagine there must be a mac equivalent which will definitely do the job.

If this doesn't help, Davina has a mac and will know the answer, I will get back to you if needs be!

Hello Jenny -  hope you find something to start as well as finish! . How do you choose which UFO to finish - I hide mine away and try to forget about them while my "In Progress" pile topples over! I need somekind of "crop rotation system", two ongoing, one fallow etc.

Thanks very much for pointing that out! It's important to get it right, and the great part about the forum is that we can make sure corrections happen asap. We will make certain the next installment in the magazine makes it clear that blocks are 12in square when finished. We would usually recommend that you store all your completed blocks flat and safe until the set is complete, and then measure and trim each block to size when all twelve are ready, just to be on the safe side.

Thanks again Barbara, and sorry for the error.

I'm sure you're right! I quite often speed up towards the end of a long seam and then veer off as a result. It's much better to just slow down a fraction and keep it steady. I also think you really need to make sure you've got enough good light - squinting doesn't help keep seams straight!
