15 October – 12 January

‘Treasured Threads: Unpicking Gunnersbury’s Quilts’ at Gunnersbury Park and Museum, Popes Lane, London. Open Tues – Sun 10 – 4. This free exhibition takes an in-depth look at one of Gunnersbury Park Museum’s most remarkable items; a pieced and appliquéd quilt created around 1825 by a family in Acton, west London. Comparing the ‘Acton Top’ with other historic quilts from the museum collection, the exhibition investigates how quilting developed from the late 1780s to the 1850s and explores associated technological and social changes. The exhibition is accompanied by a programme of talks and workshops. Parking and disabled access. Admission free (charges apply for special workshops and talks)
