‘Inlaid Patchwork in Europe’ from 1500 to the present day at Leeds Art Gallery, The Headrow, Leeds. Open Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat 10 – 5, Wed 12 – 5, Sun 1 – 5. A major textile exhibition showcasing pictorial textiles that straddle boundaries between art and craft. Many pieces tell a story or represent important European historical events. Made from off-cuts of woollen cloth from the tailoring industry, they were usually made by men. Study days, and 3 days artist’s residency. Admission free.

An exhibition of work by Dr Cathy Corbishley Michel who is both a pathologist and quilter and textile artists, Cherille Mayhew and Jennifer Hollingdale. Admission free. Open by pre-arranged telephone appointments Mon – Fri 10 – 5; Open Days when no appointment is necessary 29 July, 12 August and 18 September 10 – 4. Some quilts and smaller items for sale.
