Log Cabin Cot Quilt by Madeline Little

Updated: Friday, February 19, 2010

Instructions for making the Log Cabin Cot Quilt illustrated appeared in Issue 194, March 2010 of P&Q.

The pieced blocks are great for using up scraps and the alternate plain blocks showcase quilting. The designs are deliberately kept simple so a young child can recognise the shapes.
A fun quilt to encourage the learning of colours, letters, animals and the sounds they make and lovely to cuddle up in.

The quilting designs, as given, fit 5" square set straight or on point.

If you feel you cannot draw, children’s books or stencil books are a good source of designs and so long as it is for your own (non-commercial) use, there should not be any copyright issues.
