Hello Q4J and welcome to my blog
Updated: Monday, March 15, 2010
Do you like ladybirds? They happen to be one of my favourite insects because I love the bright red coats with black spots.
I saw a different ladybird two days ago which was black with orange spots- hmmm- Quite unusual, I thought. So I Googled it and discovered that it could have been a Harlequin Ladybird which is not one of our native ladybirds and so, not as welcome in the garden because it might be unkind to the red and black ones.
This brings me to fabric with spots on. Is there a connection between the two?
I love spots on fabric in any colours and sizes too. At half term, I went to the Autumn Quilt Show in Malvern and bought a selection of spotted fabrics that I intend to use in some Christmas projects. My daughter also likes spotted fabrics and she wants to make a bag with the red fabric and white spots that she bought.
When we have made our spotty creations, I will post them on the next blog. Why not start a little collection of spotted fabrics if you like them, too?
Until then, enjoy sewing and do look out for any ladybirds (they should really be sleeping somewhere warm and dry now).
